Library Souvenir Spoons
Souvenir spoons are a common collectible. The first patent for a souvenir spoon in the U. S. was granted in 1881. The Library of Congress building completed in 1897 was one of the first libraries to appear on a souvenir spoon. The spoon below was offered on eBay.
Below are a few library souvenir spoons from my limited collection. They depict the following libraries: Boston Public Library; Stephenson Public Library, Marinette, WI; Racine Public Library, Milwaukee Public Library; Carnegie Library of Pittsburg; Carnegie Library, Marshfield, MD; Chicago Public Library.
